Corporal Works of Mercy: Clothe the Naked

The holy season of Lent is a good time to consider the mission of Catholic Charities of Long Island in light of the seven Corporal Works of Mercy found in the teachings of Jesus:

Feed the hungry
Drink to the thirsty
Clothe the naked
Shelter the homeless
Visit the sick
Visit the imprisoned
Bury the dead

Staff members and volunteers at CCLI help to Clothe the Naked through the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program in Amityville, which provides baby clothing; the Immigrant and Refugee Services case management team, which distributes clothing as needed; and Parish Social Ministry programs, which work cooperatively with CCLI in offering outreach services at more than 100 parishes in the Diocese of Rockville Centre on Long Island.

During Lent please join us in praying that our Long Island neighbors seeking clothing may also receive Christ-centered compassion and dignity that brings hope.
