Bethany Hogan Selected for Leadership Academy

Bethany Hogan, clinic supervisor of CCLI’s Addiction Treatment Services, Hampton Bays Clinic, is participating in the OASAS Leadership Academy. This is the first time Catholic Charities of Long Island is being represented at the Leadership Academy.
The training program, with monthly sessions from March until June, coversessential leadership skills, including trauma-informed practices, stress management, work-life balance, communication and more.
Bethany is an Advanced Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. She was selected for the Leadership Academy out of hundreds of applicants from across New York State. She is one of 32 enrolled in her Leadership Academy cohort, which meets in Levittown and virtually.
“It’s nice to be with other professionals in the field,” Bethany said of her
attendance. “It will impact our clinic in a positive way, not only for the clinicians I supervise, but for our clients as well.”
Since September, Bethany has served as clinic supervisor with a full caseload of her own clients. She had previously served there as a senior counselor. The 10-year Catholic Charities employee got her start as a clinic intern. “It feels like home base here,” she said.
She supervises an in-person staff of three counselors, a nurse, and three support staff members, as well as three remote counselors. The clinic is located in the community center at St. Rosalie’s parish. The parish is supportive of the clinic’s work and announces program services in the weekly bulletin.
The OASAS Leadership Academy is funded with a grant from the New York State Opioid Settlement Fund. The Office of Addiction Services and Supports, or OASAS, is a New York State government agency overseeing addiction prevention, treatment, harm reduction and recovery services.
