Catholic Charities addresses those issues with respect and compassion regardless of a client's religious beliefs or sexual orientation. All services are provided in a confidential and supportive environment.
Special Needs Housing
Catholic Charities provides low-income special needs housing because Long Island's high cost of living can be especially hard on families with one or more HIV-ill members. Special needs housing currently provides affordable rental units for individuals, couples, and families. Families in the special needs housing residences have access to social work and case management services, as needed.
Families in the special needs housing residences also have access to social work and case management services and in many cases qualify to receive other Catholic Charities services.
Eligibility and Fees
The program requires documentation of HIV+ status. Rent for special needs housing is figured as a percentage of income.
