We Are There

Catholic Charities of Long Island is a leading participant in We Are There, a national awareness campaign highlighting the life-giving services that Catholic Charities organizations across the United States share with their local communities. For more than 65 years, Catholic Charities of Long Island has brought comfort, hope and relief to our neighbors in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

We Are There will help those we serve and those who support our work clearly understand who we are, what we do and why we do so. Our affiliation with 168 like-minded Catholic Charities organizations expresses our unity in service and purpose.

Did you know that the Catholic Charities USA network each year serves more than 15 million people and distributes more than 30 million meals to those in need? It is a dynamic response to the call of Jesus in Matthew 25:35-40 to always remember the least among us.

Caring for Long Islanders is the exclusive mission of Catholic Charities of Long Island. We are truly there to address many basic human needs including housing, nutrition, addiction and mental health treatment, maternity care and parish social ministry. We serve all those who come to us in need: seniors, people with developmental disabilities, immigrants and refugees, and women, infants and children.

We Are There, over the coming months, will use national media outlets to showcase the good Catholic Charities accomplishes. Here at Catholic Charities of Long Island we’ll continue to spotlight the ways we aid our neighbors in need.
