Recent disasters have emphasized new needs, impacting thousands of Long Islanders of every age, background and income level. We meet the complex needs of these individuals and families through our Disaster Response Services. Our relief services team provides comprehensive assessments of client needs, clinical therapy, counseling and individualized recovery plans. Working closely with local government agencies and other human services providers we also advocate to resolve unmet client needs, assist with appeals, and provide referrals. Long-term, we help communities and local parishes prepare for future disasters via networking and training workshops for their volunteers and staff.
